What is life cycle and why is it important?
~ life cycle is a nature process where living things to go through different stages of life to ensures the survival and continuity of its breeds.
~ Cycle of life = birth to young - young grow to adult - adult mate to reproduce and
~ The new youngs again go through the same stages of life
Note:
1) life cycle ends and begins when the adult living thing reproduce. Do not include death
2) life span refers to one's birth till death, regardless at which stage of life. It may even ends before reproduction begins thus life span may or may not include life cycle.
Two stages life cycles
Adult -- young (repeat)
>>mammals e.g. human, cat, cow
>>fish e.g. Guppy and swordtail
Three stages life cycle
Adult -- egg -- young/tadpole/nymph (repeat)
>> birds e.g. Chicken, duck, crow, parrot
>> fish e.g. Clownfish, goldfish
>> reptiles e.g. Crocodile, lizard, snake
>> amphibian e.g. Frog, toad
>> insect e.g. Cockroach, damslfly, dragonfly, grasshopper
